Job Search - Response from recruiters
So within 24 hours of posting my profile, I start getting calls from recruiters offering me 'Opportunities' in other CMM level 5 companies (I work in one). Hey, I have to work during the daytime. Its difficult to talk to people every 15 minutes about 'new and exciting' opportunities. Actually, all opportunities sound more or less the same. Maybe its exciting to the recruiters...$$$$, yeah.
Time to remove my mobile number from the site.
Next day, checked my e-mail. 54 unread. Goody. I am in demand. Here's how the average one goes
"Greetings Candidate! We came across your resume in a job portal and found it to be in line with one of our Existing Requirement. Currently we have an urgent requirement for XXX and YYY professionals in a CMM level 5 and BS7799 certified company. If the job and role interests you, Kindly forward your updated resume to XXXX with the following details Current CTC Expected CTC Convenient date and time for a Telecon/ Direct discussion. Joining time ( Notice Period with the existing Employer) Date of Birth "
Realize that people are lazy. They just send mass mailers to 'candidates' whose skillsets seem to match their 'wanted' keywords. Yes, 'J2EE architect' for a CMM level 5 company. '.NET Architect' for a PCMM level 5 company. No problems. OK, one problem - I don't know anything about .NET . I'm willing to learn that if the opportunity is really that exciting.
Actually, I am lazy too. Having worked in a 'CMM level 5 and BS7799 certified company' for more than 7 years, I know what those are. And how I hate those things. Thankfully, Gmail lets me search e-mails. So all those e-mails which have cmm level 5 find their way to /dev/null.
Another one - "Dear Candidate How are you? This is XXXX in response to your profile I found in YYYY. This mail is intended to provide you with a lifetime opportunity with the largest product & project Development Company. "
Yee-haa. That was what I was looking for. The opportunity of this lifetime. One that would make this life worthwhile. Waky-Waky. I need to know the company's name. Don't feel like working for anonymous companies.
"We have an opening with our clients - 1)XXX - 4- 8 YRS - JAVA (EJB Should have worked) 2)XXY - 6 - 9 YRS - good in designing(ejb strong ) 3)ZZZ - 5 - 7 YRS good in designing(ejb strong 4)AAA - 4- 9 YRS - ejb 5)XXX - 4- 6 YRS - ejb we have opening for all these clients"
Yes, yes. 1) Potatoes - Rs 8/kg 2) Tomatoes - Rs 10/kg 3) Onions - Rs 18/kg
Funny enough, some are offering me jobs at where I already work.
Of course there were a few people who listed 'opportunities' in named companies and also listed the requirement and company expectations. I'll respond to ones that sound 'exciting'. Thanks.
Putting on my seatbelt. This might turn out to be a good experience.
